Access Statement
Introduction
Our detached guest house occupies a
prominent position on Radcliffe Road in the sought after area of West Bridgford, Nottingham.
The Proprietor, Management and staff are
committed to ensuring that the needs of all our guests are met, however, our main entrance and the absence of ground
floor accommodation make our premises unsuitable for wheelchair users, and those with limited mobility.
Pre-Arrival

Our information can be provided in large print if required.
We regret, we do not have facilities to prepare documents in Braille.
·
We are situated approximately 1 mile from Nottingham city
centre.
·
West Bridgford town centre is a short car journey, or an
approximate 10-minute walk.
·
Various restaurants and takeaways can be found 5 minutes away
on Radcliffe Road.
·
Nottingham train station is approximately 1 mile away.
Taxis are usually available outside the station, but we can book one for you in advance, if required.
·
Nottingham bus station is approximately 1 mile away.
We are on a direct bus route from the bus station, however, we can, on request, book a taxi to collect you on
your arrival.
·
There is a bus stop on Radcliffe Road, approximately 100 yards
away.
·
Buses run every 30 minutes into Nottingham city centre.
·
We are happy to arrange taxis in advance for you, if one is
required during your stay, or we can do this on your arrival.
·
We do not accommodate pets.
·
We are strictly a no-smoking establishment.
·
Check- in is 2 pm onwards, however earlier arrival may be
possible by arrangement. Check-out is 10 am.
Your anticipated arrival time would be helpful.
·
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy.
·
Payment is made in full, on arrival, by Debit/Credit card or
cash. We do not accept cheques.
Arrival
and Car Parking
·
We have a car park at the front of the building providing
off-road parking for 5 vehicles. In addition to this, there is a 2-car
parking bay at the rear of the building, which is suitable for accommodating larger vehicles, i.e. vans, and can be
reserved for this purpose.
·
We offer assistance with luggage.
·
The front car park surface, and narrow pathway to our entrance
are tarmac and level. There are no gates.
·
The rear parking bay and path to our entrance, via a low iron
gate, are tarmac and level.
·
The car park is well lit at night.
·
The main entrance is well lit at night – there are lantern
lights either side of the porch door.
·
We do not have an alternative entrance.
·
There is one step up to the entrance porch.
The porch door is 75 cm wide.
Main
Entrance
·
Please ring the door bell on situated on the right-hand side of
the porch door on arrival. The porch door is not locked – please feel
free to push open once you have rung the bell, and wait inside for the inner door to be opened.
·
There is a contact number displayed in the porch window, should
you require assistance.
·
There are censor lights in the porch, so it is well lit.
·
Our front door has a coded key pad, for which guests are issued
with the code on registration.
·
Our front door is 75 cm wide.
Reception
·
Our front door opens into our entrance hall, which is carpeted
and on one level.
·
Various information leaflets are displayed in our hallway.
·
The Emergency Evacuation Procedure is displayed in our hallway.
·
A pay-phone is mounted on the wall, together with a list of
local taxi numbers.
·
We do not have a reception desk.
Our guests are asked to take a seat in our guest lounge to complete registration.
This room is immediately on the right, and is on the same level.
·
Guests are issued with a room key and front door code card,
which allows them to come and go as they please. We do, however, ask that
guests give consideration to other guests during their stay.
·
Additional keys to rooms are available on request.
Public
Areas
·
Straight ahead leads to a door marked ‘private’
(owner/management accommodation). There is a bell to ring for attention,
and contact details are displayed on the door at all times.
·
In the mornings, this door is open for access to the Dining
room, which is via a short corridor, with one small step down.
·
We sell snacks, i.e. crisps, chocolate bars and soft drinks.
Lists are displayed in the Guest Lounge and hallway. Please ring the
bell, if you would like to purchase anything.
·
Our premises are not licensed, so we do not sell alcohol.
·
The stairs to the first floor lead from the entrance hall.
There are 15 steps, with a handrail to the top section. A fire door
pushes open onto the landing. The stairs are carpeted, and each step
measures 76 cm wide, 21 cm deep and 16 cm high.
·
Straight ahead on this landing, there are 4 guest bedrooms, and
to the left, up one small step there are 2 further bedrooms. 2 further
bedrooms are on the second floor, accessed via a pull-open fire door and a further flight of stairs, with a hand-rail on
the left-hand side. There are 16 steps.
The stairs are carpeted and measure 76 cm wide, 21 cm deep and 16 cm high. Please
see section ‘Bedrooms’ for more information.

The first floor landing has carpet tiles, and the 2nd
floor landing is carpeted.
·
We have no public ground floor toilet facilities.
·
We have 3 public shower rooms.
2 are situated on the first floor and 1 on the second floor. The
first floor rooms have linoleum floors and the second floor room has a tiled floor.
The latter is the most recently refurbished.
·
The premises are centrally heated throughout.
In addition, we can supply portable heaters if requested, during periods of extremely cold weather.
Lounge
·
The entrance door is 70 cm wide.
·
Guests are welcome to use the lounge at any time.
It has window seating and high stools, a pool table, games machines and sky TV.
·
The lounge has a laminate floor.
Dining
Room
·
The entrance door is 70 cm wide.
·
Breakfast is served in the dining room from 7 – 9 am weekdays
and 9 – 10 am at the weekends.
·
Details of breakfast are given to guests on arrival.
·
Any allergies or special dietary requirements are ascertained
on arrival, or during the booking process.
·
We do not serve evening meals, however, we could do so by
special request.
·
The dining room has 5 tables which seat 4 people and one table
for 2 people. Our maximum capacity is for 22 people.
·
A table at the end of the room is for our cereal display, fruit
juice and milk.
·
The main course of breakfast is waitress served.
Cereals and fruit juice are self-served.
·
There is a menu on each table.
·
There is a TV on a TV table next to the self-serve table.
Bedrooms
(general)
·
We have 6 bedrooms on the first floor and 2 bedrooms on the
second floor.
·
Each bedroom door measures 70 cm wide.
·
All bedrooms are carpeted.
·
Two of the bedrooms on the first floor have en-suite
facilities, consisting of shower, WC and wash basin.
·
Non en-suite bedrooms have their own washbasin.
·
Each bedroom has tea and coffee making facilities.
·
Each bedroom has colour TV.
·
Each bedroom has a hair-dryer.
·
All beds are made using synthetic duvets.
·
All pillows are synthetic.
·
We are happy to provide additional bedding on request.
·
Each bedroom, has a dressing table with mirror, stool
(exception room 4), bedside table/s with lamp/s, a wardrobe (some are open-fronted) with coat-hangers and full-length
mirror.
·
Bath and hand towels are provided daily.
·
All rooms are serviced daily.
·
All beds are singles, but convert to very large doubles on
request.
·
There is an information sheet on the back of every bedroom door
with details of our facilities, contact details etc.
Bedroom
1
·
This room is the first door on the right on the first floor
landing.
·
It has 3 single beds, and is en-suite.

2
·
This room is the second door on the right on the first floor
landing.
·
It has 3 single beds, and is not en-suite.
Bedroom
3
·
This room is at the end of the first floor corridor.
·
It has 2 single beds, and is en-suite.
Bedroom
4
·
This room is the first door on the left on the first floor
landing.
·
It has 2 single beds, and is not en-suite.
Bedrooms
5 and 6
·
Turn left at the top of the first flight of stairs and up one
small step to these rooms.
·
Room 5 has 2 single beds and is not en-suite.
·
Room 6 has 3 single beds and is not en-suite.
Bedrooms
7 and 8
·
Both these rooms are on the second floor.
·
Both rooms have 3 single beds and share a shower room on their
own landing.
·
These rooms are ideal for a family or group of friends.
Patio
Area
·
We do not have a garden, but have a small private patio area at
the rear of the building, with a table and chairs, which is available for our guests to use during the warmer months.
·
Access to the patio is down one side of the building, via low
double gates from the front car park.
·
There are no steps and the ground is level.
·
Guests can smoke in this area.
Additional
Information
·
The Emergency Evacuation procedure is displayed on the back of
each door.
·
There are fire escapes on the first and second floors.
·
There are fire extinguishers in the entrance hall, and on the
first and second floors.
·
Wall-mounted ashtrays can be found outside the front porch and
in rear parking bay.
·
We are happy to store any medication or dietary foods in our
fridge, providing the container is secure and clearly marked.
·
We are also happy to store any perishables in our fridge for a
limited period!
·
Mobile phone reception is generally good.
·
We are happy to reduce background noise if requested.
